Dosing ladder · conservative on purpose
The honest answer: less than you think, and slower than the marketing wants you to. Here’s the ladder we walk every new customer through. It works because consistency beats dose.
First-time users
Take at the same time daily. Don't adjust yet — give the endocannabinoid system a week to baseline.
Mild relief sought
Nudge up 5mg every few days. Most customers feel a clear shift in this range for sleep & general calm.
Pain or anxiety
Split into AM + PM doses. Stay here at least 2 weeks before increasing — more is rarely the answer.
Acute pain / sleep onset
Discuss with your doctor first — especially if you're on prescription meds metabolized by CYP3A4.
Not medical advice. Talk to your doctor if you’re on prescription medication or pregnant. Read the full 14-page Dosing Guide.
Cannabinoid 101
There are 100+ cannabinoids in the hemp plant. Four show up meaningfully on our COAs. Here's what each does and where it lives in the Verde line.
The major non-intoxicating cannabinoid in hemp. Largest body of research, broadest entourage interaction profile.
Most regulars feel it as a steady, baseline read — not a 'high.' Works for daily routine across sleep, calm, and recovery.
In the line: Verde Full-Spectrum 1500mg MCT
Cannabigerol — the precursor cannabinoid. The plant produces CBG first; enzymes convert most of it into CBD or THC during maturation.
Customers consistently report a 'clearer' read than CBD. Lends itself to daytime routines.
In the line: Verde CBG Daytime Tincture 750mg
Cannabinol — formed when THC oxidizes over time. Found at higher concentration in aged or weathered hemp flower.
Sleep-leaning profile when co-extracted with full-spectrum CBD. Don't confuse co-extracted CBN with CBN-isolate added back to a base — the entourage read is different.
In the line: Nightshade Tincture 1500mg
Cannabichromene — a minor cannabinoid with limited (but growing) research. Shows up in trace amounts on full-spectrum panels.
Subtle contributor to the recovery profile in most full-spec formulas. We don't sell a CBC-isolate SKU; it appears as a minor on every full-spec batch.
In the line: Recovery Softgel 50mg
Spectrum decision tree
New customers ask "which one should I pick?" more than any other question we get. Here's the three-question version of the framework our customer-experience team walks people through on the phone.
1. Are you drug-tested for work or sport?
If yes / option A
Yes — regularly
→ Broad-Spectrum or Isolate
Both are designed to test ND for Δ9-THC. Bring the batch COA to your compliance team.
If no / option B
No
→ Full-Spectrum
Strongest entourage read, full minor-cannabinoid profile, trace THC under 0.3%.
2. Do you want the minor cannabinoids (CBG, CBN, CBC) too?
If yes / option A
Yes — the full entourage profile
→ Full-Spec or Broad-Spec
Both keep the minors. Choose Full if you don't drug-test, Broad if you do.
If no / option B
No — just CBD
→ Isolate
99%+ pure CBD, no minors, no terpenes. Highest per-mL potency in the line.
3. How are you finding your dose?
If yes / option A
First time — looking for a starter
→ Hemp-Seed 500mg or Daily Balance 10mg
Low potency, conservative ladder. Step up after the first 30 days.
If no / option B
Have a milligram target already
→ 1500mg Tincture or 25mg Capsule
Choose tincture for dose flexibility, capsule for routine convenience.

Will Verde products cause me to fail a drug test?
Our full-spectrum products contain trace THC (<0.3% by federal law). Most drug tests screen for THC, so we can't guarantee a pass on full-spectrum. If that's a concern, our broad-spectrum and isolate products are tested non-detectable for THC — every COA shows the exact result.
Is hemp-derived CBD legal in my state?
Hemp-derived CBD (≤0.3% THC) is federally legal under the 2018 Farm Bill and shippable to all 50 states. A handful of states have additional restrictions on specific cannabinoids — we update our shipping rules continuously and won't take an order we can't legally fulfill.
How much CBD should I start with?
First-time customers: start with 10–15mg of full-spectrum tincture, taken at the same time each day for a full week before adjusting. Most people land between 25mg–50mg/day. Our full Dosing Guide walks through the conservative ladder by goal (sleep, focus, recovery).
Can I pause or cancel my subscription?
Anytime, from your account. Pause for a single month, skip a delivery, swap products, or cancel outright — no email required, no phone call, no retention scripts. The 20% subscription discount stays active even on add-on one-time orders between deliveries.
How fast does shipping take?
Orders placed before 2pm MST Mon–Fri ship same day from Boulder. Standard USPS arrives in 3–5 business days; free for orders over $75. UPS 2-day available at checkout. Subscription refills always ship free.
What's the return policy?
30 days, no questions asked. Try a product for a full week, and if it doesn't feel right, email hello@verdebotanicals.example for a no-questions refund — even on opened bottles. The 30-day clock starts on delivery, not order date.
Are your pet products safe for cats and small dogs?
Yes. Calm Pet Tincture uses MCT-oil carrier with no essential oils, xylitol, or alcohol — all known toxins for cats and small dogs. Dose by body weight (chart on the product page); we recommend starting at half the suggested dose for cats and senior pets.
How do I read a COA?
Every product page links the batch-specific COA PDF. The first page summarizes total cannabinoids and the THC pass/fail (must be <0.3%). The pesticide, heavy metals, residual solvent, and microbial pages each show ND (non-detect) or a value — pass if below the action limit. Our /education guide walks through one line by line.
